Roy Lassiter is a retired American soccer player who was born on March 9, 1969, in Washington D.C. He started his professional soccer career in 1988 with the Baltimore Blast and later played for various clubs, including the Tampa Bay Mutiny, D.C. United, Miami Fusion, and Kansas City Wizards.
Lassiter's most successful years came while playing for the Tampa Bay Mutiny in Major League Soccer (MLS) from 1996-1998. During his time with the Mutiny, he set an MLS record for most goals scored in a single season, with 27 goals in 1996. He was also named the MLS MVP that same year.
In total, Lassiter played for the United States Men's National Team (USMNT) in 34 games and scored four goals. He represented the USMNT in the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France, where he scored a goal against Austria.
Following his professional playing career, Lassiter became a coach and has worked with various youth soccer programs in the United States, including the FC Sarasota Soccer Academy in Florida.
